New kitchen and play equipment

20 orphans now live in our home, cared for by 5 employees and the team leader Alfred. He is now also responsible for the play and sports programs. The foundation has built a simple playground and sports field for the children.

The new kitchen is ready and already in operation. Cooking is much easier with the new ovens. There is less smoke, which is good for the health of the staff and children.

This year, the delegation from the Board of Trustees went on an excursion with the children and spent two days in Murchison National Park. The children only know the animals that live there (elephants, giraffes, lions, hippos and crocodiles) from books. Accordingly, they are excited and very happy about their first excursion into this world.

LIVIA

My time at the "Home of Joy" children's home in Uganda was a formative and enriching experience. During my stay, I was not only able to make a direct contribution to the children's everyday lives, but also gain valuable insights into a different culture and way of life.

I helped look after the children, assisted with everyday tasks and organized playful and creative activities. I was particularly impressed by the warmth and joie de vivre of the children and the commitment of the staff. On site, I experienced a caring and supportive environment in which solidarity and mutual appreciation were tangible.

This experience broadened my view of the world and showed me how important interpersonal commitment is. I am very grateful for my time at the "Home of Joy" - it made me grow personally and I will always remember it.
