About us
The Board of Trustees has been committed to supporting children for over 20 years. All donations go 100% to the projects
After years of supporting war refugees and war orphans in the areas of the former Yugoslavia, Stefan Born founded the Light for Forgotten Children Foundation in 2002. He is supported by over 150 generous benefactors, who together provided the founding capital.
Stefan Born is still Chairman of the Board of Trustees to this day and is committed to helping orphans and children in need, as set out in the foundation's purpose.
All proceeds go 100% to the projects. The Board of Trustees has been committed to supporting children for over 20 years. Two projects are currently being run in India and Uganda. When using the donations, great importance is attached to providing sustainable help to the children and young people affected and enabling them to lead a self-determined life.

Board of Trustees
We turn nobody's children into happy children. Hermann Gmeiner, founder of SOS Children's Villages, once said that their laughter, their affirmation of life and their development are enough thanks and hope for us. This is also my incentive and my hope. There is nothing better than giving children in need a home, security, love, education and training
It gives me great pleasure to travel to countries and experience first-hand how even a small contribution can change a child's life. It is very important to me to help children in need and to support them on their journey through life. With this foundation, I know that we can give them a better future.
Helping children in need, giving them a home, a family, an education and a future is the best job I can imagine. Seeing what they make of it, how they develop and the smiles they give me is the best reward I have ever received.
When I was a child myself, I wanted for nothing. However, I realized early on that this was not the case for everyone. Thanks to my father and his passion for this foundation, I was able to actively help change things early on. Today, I am on the foundation board myself and want to give other children the life they dream of.
Every child has the right to a happy childhood and a hopeful future. It is very important to me that no child is left behind. Every child deserves to have love, care and the chance to realize their dreams.
I am grateful to be part of this foundation and look forward to the challenges and successes we will achieve together.
I am involved in the foundation because it touches me deeply to give joy to others and to see their smiling faces - it gives my work a special meaning. We live in exceptional prosperity in Switzerland and have the privilege of sharing knowledge and resources with others. These opportunities are a gift that we can use to promote the future of children and give them hope.
