Children
We started with six orphans in 2014 - today we run the "Home of Joy" children's home, which provides a safe and loving home for up to 40 children. Here they experience security, care and individual support. In addition to basic care, we attach great importance to education, emotional stability and the development of life skills - so that every child has hope and prospects for the future.
Our foundation is passionately committed to the education and future of children and young people in Uganda. In 2024, we opened a secondary school that is not only modern and conducive, but also the first within a 10 km radius in this region. Our vision is to give every child, regardless of their social or financial situation, access to quality education.
In the rural region of Chopelwor, where the "Home of Joy" children's home is located, there is a lack of adequate medical care. Many residents have to travel long distances to receive help. Thanks to Foundation Board member Fiona Bienz, this challenge has been tackled: A project for an infirmary was launched.
The infirmary was opened in February 2025. Since then, not only the children of "Home of Joy", but also the entire surrounding population have had access to a place for primary medical care, support and advice.

Claudia BornJune 15, 2024 Excellent foundation! I have visited the children's home project in Uganda several times. It is impressive how it has developed in such a short time. Great work by the local staff and the foundation board. Absolutely worthy of support.
My time at the "Home of Joy" children's home in Uganda was a formative and enriching experience. During my stay, I was not only able to make a direct contribution to the children's everyday lives, but also gain valuable insights into a different culture and way of life.
I helped look after the children, assisted with everyday tasks and organized playful and creative activities. I was particularly impressed by the warmth and joie de vivre of the children and the commitment of the staff. On site, I experienced a caring and supportive environment in which solidarity and mutual appreciation were tangible.
This experience broadened my view of the world and showed me how important interpersonal commitment is. I am very grateful for my time at the "Home of Joy" - it made me grow personally and I will always remember it.
