Happy children's eyes

At the end of November, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Stefan Born, visited "Mothers Nest" together with Kathrin Kühn, Pascale Koller and Bea Reichle.

There are currently 35 girls attending school at the "Mothers Nest" orphanage. The younger ones attend school on our premises, while some of the older ones already attend high school externally. The orphanage is also home to 40 children with mental and physical disabilities, who are lovingly cared for and looked after.

On Saturday, we were able to take part in a newly launched project by the "Menschen für Menschen sein" association at our school. Every month, around 40 HIV-positive women come together who, after years of exclusion by their family and environment, are able to experience a community and socialize for the first time in a long time. They are given information, can exchange experiences and are provided with healthy food for the coming month. We were all very touched to have been part of this.

And of course, the trip to the water park with all the children from "Mothers Nest" was not to be missed. The exuberant and happy day will be remembered for a long time to come.

It was wonderful to see how the local team under the leadership of Father Joseph works tirelessly for all the children. They give our children structure, a sense of family and show them how to treat each other with respect and consideration.

Many thanks to Joseph & his team and to Brigitte Born.

LIVIA

My time at the "Home of Joy" children's home in Uganda was a formative and enriching experience. During my stay, I was not only able to make a direct contribution to the children's everyday lives, but also gain valuable insights into a different culture and way of life.

I helped look after the children, assisted with everyday tasks and organized playful and creative activities. I was particularly impressed by the warmth and joie de vivre of the children and the commitment of the staff. On site, I experienced a caring and supportive environment in which solidarity and mutual appreciation were tangible.

This experience broadened my view of the world and showed me how important interpersonal commitment is. I am very grateful for my time at the "Home of Joy" - it made me grow personally and I will always remember it.
