Sponsored run 2023

Every year in September, the motto is "We run for children". This popular sponsored run is already a tradition and an important source of income for our foundation.

After many years of sunny and warm fall weather, this year the cold and wet weather drove us into the hall. However, this did not detract from the good and relaxed atmosphere. In the run-up to the event, the runners, many of whom were children of course, looked for sponsors who were willing to bet a certain amount per lap or a fixed amount on them. The participants ran their laps for 12 minutes with great joy and energy, knowing that each additional lap would bring an additional contribution for the children in India and Uganda. Of course, the runners were frenetically cheered on by the many visitors. The dance group "body and dance art" from Rothenthurm, under the direction of Patricia Schuler, sweetened the breaks for those present with their action-packed and fantastic presentations.

The organization of the event was once again perfect! The team around OC President Juliana Gasser and the OC members Philip Gasser, Becki & Sebastian Born and Rolf Elsener are now a well-coordinated team.

Over 85 children and adults ran for the fantastic sum of around 38,000 francs for the benefit of our projects. Our sincere thanks go to all the runners, all the helpers, all the sponsors and the entire organizing committee!

LIVIA

My time at the "Home of Joy" children's home in Uganda was a formative and enriching experience. During my stay, I was not only able to make a direct contribution to the children's everyday lives, but also gain valuable insights into a different culture and way of life.

I helped look after the children, assisted with everyday tasks and organized playful and creative activities. I was particularly impressed by the warmth and joie de vivre of the children and the commitment of the staff. On site, I experienced a caring and supportive environment in which solidarity and mutual appreciation were tangible.

This experience broadened my view of the world and showed me how important interpersonal commitment is. I am very grateful for my time at the "Home of Joy" - it made me grow personally and I will always remember it.
